Multiple "move" blocks, erasing alive block

I made multiple test with several move runes in a single DNA (to input movement sequences), here is a simple example. The block should move forward then backwards, but it keeps moving forward.

Also, I still cannot erase alive cubes using the instruction in the manual. The skull icon appears during about one frame then disappears.

It's funny you found this bug, because I corrected it yesterday. :)
(yeah, I know, it's not that useful if I don't make an update)
The Move instruction was in fact only half done and move forward no matter what direction is set... in the next update, it will work as expected.

I will also add more runes to make the difference between "Left" and "His Left" (the same will go for other directions).
All current "Directions" will become "His Directions".

When facing the Planet at start, "Left" will mean "in the bottom left direction" and "Right" will mean "in the upper right direction".
"His Left" will mean "at the Left of the cube", and it will depend of the direction the cube is facing.

I never had this bug. I just tested it with the current version v00.05.00.03a "Green Dirt":
    1. I launch the game
    2. I display the Workshop
    3. I activate the "Hurt Forward" DNA
    4. I display the Inventory
    5. I create a DNA item with Hurt Forward inside
    6. I load the Hurt Forward DNA inside a cube
    7. I unselect the DNA
    8. I click on the cube to select it
    9. the skull icon appears normally
    10. I click on the skull icon
    11. the cubes dies
I also checked the Manual, the description seems correct.

But maybe the bug appears after a few time playing? Do you have the bug very soon in the game, by following the instructions as I just wrote them?
Or maybe you have the bug only with some DNA?

Nice for the move rune. I also think an visual indicator that tells where the cube is facing is really missing right now.

The bug happens even when I do exactly just what you did.

Yes, and we also should be able to choose the starting orientation of the cube (maybe using the R key, like in Factorio).

It will be difficult for me to correct the bug if I can't reproduce it. :(
Let's make another try with the next version.

I still can't erase alive blocks, the same bug happens. I have no idea what to do to help you locate the bug.

EDIT: Also, it looks like it's still not possible to put multiple move blocks in a row. I'd go as far as saying it's impossible to put several "action" blocks in a row (It did not work either with movement + direction)

Maybe there is something wrong with the updater.

Did you try the Card "Move Circle"? It's the one I used in the video, I put it as an additional download in the last news.
You can download this card here and put it in your folder:

If the cube is not moving as expected (moving 4 times to go back to the starting point), you should try by downloading the new version and put it into a new folder:

Your card worked. This one however does not and keeps moving in a straight line.

From what I can see, you are using Energy Cubes instead of Crystal Cubes. So only the first Action Cube (the one connected to the "In") can be executed.

Wait what ? Have I been using the wrong blocks since the very beginning ?
Edit: That was it. I finally made my clock :D

Edit2: I think "crystal cubes" should be renamed and take the appearance of wires as soon as possible. It was really unclear I had to use them.

Everything is made of cubes. Crystal cubes are transparent 3D "pipes / wires" where energy and light will flow.

There are no wires, there are cubes used as wires. It's us who give the names "Planets", "DNA", "Spaceship", "Creatures", "Wires" to a bunch of cubes, depending of the usage we have of these cubes. But it's still a bunch of cubes.

There will be cubes with flowing energy, we will call them "tubes". Inside an engine, we will call them "pipes". When inside a creature, we will call them "veins". But there will still be crystal cubes. There is no reason to call them rather tubes, pipes, veins or wires.

However, we can find a better name for than "crystal" for these "semi transparent cubes" (I'm not fixed on the exact nature of these cubes). But not a name attached to a function, because there are truly multi function cubes.

Naming is not fixed on a lot of things in the game, so there can be confusion. By example, are they Runes, Glyphs / Hieroglyphs, Blocks or Cubes?
Maybe we should call them Runes when we are talking about the symbol, and "blocks" when used as DNA components.

Oh, I see. Maybe "connector" ? Or simply adding a description.

Yes, there should be descriptions for common items as well.
I also intend to start editing our wiki to put all informations about runes.
